Erica Davis has always been an athlete, even after she became paralyzed and lost the use of her legs at age 24.  It has been almost 7 years since that crossroads in her life, and with help from the Challenged Athletes Foundation, Erica regained her love for triathlons and has had a few history-making adventures.  She was the first female paraplegic to compete in open water PWC (personal watercraft) racing in 2009 and on January 31st, 2010 Erica became the first female to summit Mt. Kilimanjaro in a specially-designed wheelchair.  This was a once-in-a-lifetime experience for Erica, and an momentous adventure for the challenged athletes history books.  This year Erica returned to her love of triathlons and became the Paratriathlon National Champion for her category and competed at the World Championships in New Zealand in October.  She now has set her sights on the Paralympics in 2016.   Even though Erica’s legs were “taken” away from her, she is not giving up on walking again and definitely, as all who know her will attest, has not let that slow her down.  Erica is a fun, inspirational speaker and fascinating adventurer.
