Transforming Health Care Leadership
hosted by
William W. George, Professor of Management Practice
As U.S. health care has become increasingly complex, dominated by myriad rules and regulations that drive access, reimbursement and clinical practice, we have lost sight of the vital importance of health care leaders with deep knowledge and experience in clinical practice—the essential "last 3 feet"—that determines the effectiveness of patient health and healing as well as satisfaction and empowerment. Serving on the board of Mayo Clinic and as the former chair of Allina Health System and Abbott-Northwestern Hospital in Minnesota, Professor George will describe the emerging new ways of developing health care leaders who are committed to treating the whole person and empowering people to take responsibility for their health, supported by a diverse team of practitioners. He will make the case that this is the only way to improve the health of the American people and reverse the ever-escalating cost trends. The webinar will include an extensive Q&A period in which ideas and challenges are welcomed.
